British Association of Landscape Industries (BALI)

The British Association of Landscape Industries (BALI) was established in 1972 as the UK’s representative trade association for the landscaping sector. BALI membership comprises interior and exterior landscapers and designers, grounds maintenance contractors, and companies supplying industry-related products and services. And they all have one thing in common: a commitment to delivering professional excellence by continually raising standards across the industry.

The British Association of Landscape Industries, is established to promote, support and inspire all professional landscapers, garden designers and landscape suppliers to be leaders of an environmentally, ethically, and commercially sustainable landscape industry.

BALI's aim is to be the Trade Association of choice for the nation's landscape professionals by delivering exceptional business, technical and promotional support for its members.

Membership of the Association is only granted to those companies which are able to fulfil the stringent Conditions of Membership, and continuation of Membership depends upon the maintenance of satisfactory standards, which may be subject to inspection at any time.

The Association's principal objectives are:

  • • To encourage the highest standards of quality, workmanship and service.
  • • To support the training of landscape personnel and the recognition of qualifications and competencies.
  • • To foster a greater awareness of the landscape industry's role in the creation of an improved environment.
  • • To maintain and improve the standing of the landscape industry by providing its members with a strong collective choice and to publicise the best contributions to that process through the BALI National Landscape Awards presented each year.
