Wooden Garden Tables in Grade A Teak

Find the perfect teak table for meal times, relaxing or entertaining outside. Explore the collection and unearth the ideal furniture for your garden, from a simple folding side table to a versatile extending dining table.

Our teak garden tables are built from carefully selected Grade A heartwood teak and delivered fully assembled to your door. Choose from fixed, extending, folding, coffee and bar designs, all built to stand outside year-round without treatment.

Not all Grade A teak is equal. Other suppliers' furniture can still carry knots and blemishes; ours doesn't. We select each piece for a clean, even grain that becomes the focal point of any terrace or garden. Over time it silvers gracefully, and because it's cut from oil-rich heartwood, it needs no treatment to stay beautiful. We check every piece over before it leaves our workshop.

Choosing Teak for Your Garden Table

Teak is the hardwood that doesn't need looking after. Grade A heartwood comes from the centre of a mature tree, where the timber is densest and richest in the natural oils and silica that repel water, deter insects and prevent rot from the inside.

That's why a teak table can stay out all year without oil, sealant or varnish, while most other timbers need treating every season to cope with the same conditions. Left to weather, teak softens from golden brown to an even silver-grey. The change is only on the surface, and the strength underneath is unaffected.

If you'd like to understand what Grade A actually means, our teak buying guide explains the grades and what to look for.

Round or Rectangular Tables

Round tables suit conversation and smaller spaces, because everyone can see everyone and there are no corners to work around. Rectangular tables give you more usable surface for the same footprint and scale up further once you're seating eight or more.

Two designs are worth knowing about. Our pedestal round table has a central core and four swept, curved legs with splayed feet, so there are no legs in the way wherever you sit. Our deluxe rectangular extending table sits between an oval and a rectangle, with gently smoothed corners, which suits anyone who has ended up perched on a corner before.

Sizes and Seating

Design Sizes available Seats
Round, four legs Two sizes 8 to 12
Round pedestal Eight sizes 2 to 12
Rectangular fixed (three designs) 80 x 140cm up to 130 x 350cm 4 to 16
Rectangular extending Two designs Up to 14
Square and oval fixed Square, oval 2 to 8
Folding Round, square, rectangular, oval 2 to 6

All our dining tables stand 76cm high. The two largest sizes, 120 x 300cm and 130 x 350cm, are strengthened underneath for stability and longevity outdoors.

Parasol Holes and Bases

This catches people out, so it's worth being clear. Most of our tables are available with or without a brass parasol hole, and which you choose changes what else you need.

  • A table with a parasol hole doesn't always need a parasol base
  • A table without a hole works with a cantilever parasol instead
  • Our pedestal tables don't need a base, because the central core supports the parasol pole
  • Our extending tables come with a parasol hole and brass bung, and the central lower cross bar means no base is required

Round, square, oval and rectangular tables built to stay where you put them, seating anywhere from two to sixteen.

  • Extending Tables

Two rectangular designs seating up to fourteen. The tops slide on a smooth, non-corrosive metal runner, and the extension leaves store away inside the table, individually or together.

  • Folding Tables

Round, square, rectangular and oval tops seating two to six, built with the same joinery as the fixed range.

  • Coffee, Side and Bar Tables

Lower tables for lounge seating, small tables to sit beside a chair or bench, and bar-height designs.

Living With a Teak Garden Table

Our own staff deliver every table fully assembled, in our own vans, to the spot you choose. On the fixed and extending designs, the legs detach if access is tight, and the chamfered legs have a plastic ferrule to prevent splitting and noise on wood or concrete.

Upkeep is mild soapy water and a soft brush once or twice a year. Our teak care guide covers it, and we don't recommend oiling.

Wooden Garden Table: FAQs

Is teak the best wood for a garden table?

Teak is the most durable hardwood commonly used for outdoor furniture, because its high levels of natural oil and silica protect it from water, insects and rot. Unlike oak, acacia or eucalyptus, Grade A heartwood teak needs no oil, sealant or varnish to survive outdoors.

What size garden table do I need?

Work from the number of people you seat most often rather than the maximum you can imagine. As a guide, our round tables seat between two and twelve depending on the design, our fixed rectangular tables seat four to sixteen and our extending tables reach fourteen.

How tall is a teak garden table?

All of our garden dining tables stand 76cm high, which suits standard dining chair seat heights. Bar-height designs are taller and sit in our bar furniture range.

Can a teak garden table be left outside all winter?

Yes. Grade A heartwood teak can stay outdoors year-round with no cover, storage or treatment. It will weather to an even silver-grey patina, which is a surface change and doesn't affect the strength of the timber.

Do I need a parasol base?

It depends on the table. A table with a parasol hole doesn't always need a base. Pedestal tables don't, because the central core supports the pole, and neither do our extending tables, because of the central lower cross bar. A table without a hole pairs with a cantilever parasol instead.

Are your garden tables delivered assembled?

Yes. Our own team delivers every table fully assembled and positions it where you want it. Delivery is free on orders over £250 to UK mainland postcodes.
