At Chic Teak you will find a wide range of teak benches from our online store. We use Teak in our wooden benches as it is a very hard, heavy, strong wood, distinctively oily to the touch. This oil in the wood makes teak very durable. It is a "natural preservative" making all applied treatments unnecessary. It is resistant to insects and fungus as well as rot and moisture damage. When first cut, it is a tawny golden colour streaked with dark brown and gold. The colour lightens as it dries and can look silvery grey when it has been aged and sun bleached.
The durable properties of teak make it ideal for garden benches and park benches. So if you need wooden benches for your outdoor area, be sure to take a look at our teak garden benches and telephone our friendly and helpful staff for the best prices and advice.
All our wooden garden benches are ethically sourced from state-owned forestry firm Perum Perhutani, which is a Government controlled teak plantation in Indonesia. They ensure that the teak stock is well managed and serve to both alleviate the stress on the worlds tropical forests while offering a source of eco-friendly timber located.
You may want to buy a bench and are inundated with the vast range of garden benches and park benches available. Many of which are wooden benches but the best wood for a bench is teak but the quality of the wood does vary. At Chic Teak we only use A grade heart wood teak that is taken from the heart of the tree and does not include knots, sap wood or any colour irregularities. The teak used in our garden benches is carefully kiln dried to stabilise the wood and provoke long life. In addition to the quality of the wood our teak garden benches are constructed using traditional mortice and tenon joinery with dowels and adhesive so you can be assured that all our teak benches are stable, secure and durable.
Selecting Wooden Benches?
There are many styles and features of wooden garden benches. Read the following article to identify the most important facets to consider when buying high quality teak benches.
Firstly consider construction. Our wooden garden benches are not flat packed and are fully assembled in the factory ensuring a high quality build for strength and durability. Next consider the teak benches’ location. Will it receive a lot of traffic and subsequent wear and tear such as many park benches do or will they be for a more private location suitable for garden benches? If more public you may wish to consider our more sturdy and robust park benches such as the Riverbank or Raffles bench. Alternatively for garden benches a more ornate and lighter bench such as the Sumba or Bali bench may be more practical. Also consider how long you wish to use the bench and how many people will sit on it. If you want to use teak benches while having a drink you may wish to have one with flat arm rests or if you will intend to use it with a friend you may want it large enough so you have some space between you for a book or cup. Wooden benches can also be used for dining along with a form of table if so make sure that your chosen teak benches are high enough to make dining a pleasure rather than having to stoop to eat. Finally measure the dimensions of the space where you plan to keep the garden benches to avoid buying wooden benches that will not fit. Follow this practical advice and your wooden benches will match your need perfectly and give years of enjoyable use.
